Tired of converting mov files into AVI for the playout with LiveBoard 64bit?
No worries, we have some good news for you...ClassX introduces support for new media types in v6! With the advent of ClassX Broadcast Applications v6, customers can count on native, x64/x86 media support for the following codecs:
- Containers:
MKV/WebM, AVI, MP4/MOV, MPEG-TS/PS (including basic EVO support), FLV, OGG, and many more that are supported by ffmpeg.
- Video Codecs:
H264, VC-1, MPEG-2, MPEG4-ASP (Divx/Xvid), VP8, MJPEG and many more.
- Audio Codecs:
AAC, AC3, DTS(-HD), TrueHD, MP3/MP2, Vorbis, LPCM and more.
- Subtitles:
VOB, DVB Subs, PGS, SRT, SSA/ASS, Text
- BluRay Support:
Support for opening BluRay playlists (.mpls), as well as the index.bdmv file, which will try to detect the main movie playlist.
Full support for Seamless Branching Blu-rays as well as HD audio (including native full DTS HD-MA support)
Other Notable Features:
- MKV Edition/Ordered Chapters/Segment linking support
- Full Stream switching
- MKV Embedded Fonts
- Audio Bitstreaming (through LAV Audio)
ImportantNote: QuickTime support into LiveBoard/StealthCG does not need to have QuickTime installed into the system. Our template editors are still depending on some Apple QuickTime libraries, but will automatically disable any QuickTime support if QuickTime is not installed (which is already disabled when running x64 ClassX applications, as QuickTime is already incompatible with x64 architectures).

What happens now?
ClassX customer´s point of view:
- ClassX will no longer ship QuickTime installers with its products.
- ClassX will not remove QuickTime support in the template editors. Customers can install QuickTime runtimes separately and create templates with QuickTime objects.
The installer is here: www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html
- Thanks to the extended, native mediatypes support of v6, any QuickTime media file will be played under x86 and x64 architectures WITHOUT the need to install QuickTime runtimes.
